Punisher Commission

Description

Here is my first paid commission, Marvel's The Punisher. Unfortunately it was too large for my scanner so I had to photograph it. Today I'll try to scan a bunch of pictures with the library's scanner, because my scanner's not working, and hope the image quality is good enough to put on-line.

Punisher created by Gerry Conway, John Romita, Sr., and Ross Andru.

PS My secret project is debuting very soon.

Yay, Punisher! This is a really nice, solid drawing. It has a much sturdier feeling than a lot of your other drawings have had. His feet are so great. The way you've got them placed at slightly different angles, so they really look like they're existing in space. That's excellent. And even though this is a cartoony style, they muscles in his legs are perfectly corresponding with actual human muscle structure...the way the calf muscles are higher up on the outside of the leg and lower on the inside, and the large overlapping muscle groups in the thighs. So excellent. :D

I'm sure you're aware that maybe you could've done less rendering before you had the whole picture sketched in...I'm assuming that's why the gun in his right hand is getting cut off, and the one in his left hand is right at the edge of the paper. So in the future, you could work on planning out your compositions a little more, instead of drawing a figure in the middle of the paper and hoping everything fits.

Also, you could work a bit more on necks. Frank's neck just sort of arises out of his torso like a volcano, here. You could work on having the neck actually fitting down into the space formed by the collarbone. :)
